Welcome back for today’s lesson you guys and gals. Today’s post is about Quarterback play in Madden NFL 09. Playing Quarterback in Madden allows you to make decisions for your teams offense. They are certain attributes you should be aware of. Your Quarterback needs to have a strong arm to throw the deep ball. The name of the attribute is THP this stands for Throwing Power. If your quarterback doesn’t have a strong arm for the deep ball.

You should use the short and intermediate passing game to be effective. Joe Montana is an example of using short and intermediate passing game in the west coast offense. Tom Brady is an Example of a quarterback with a strong arm. The next thing to look for is accuracy from your quarterback in Madden 09. Accuracy allows your Quarterback to complete more passes to your wide receivers. The rating you should look for is THA the higher it is the better. The Last rating your Quarterback needs to have is Awareness. AWR is the attribute you should look in your quarterback the higher the better.

The next thing I want to add is no turnovers like throwing interceptions and fumbling the football. This will take points of the board and increase your chances of losing. Speed is another factor to look for that can help you. Speed allows your quarterback to buy second chances and extend plays. You can scramble to get first downs when plays breakdown.

There is no vision cone In madden 09 this year to worry about. Try practicing precision passing to get comfortable using it. Precision passing allows you to lead a receiver and throw the ball where you receiver can catch it. The vision cone was added to PlayStation 2 from Sony and Microsoft’s xbox. In the next gen consoles such as PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 the vision cone is not added in.
