Nintendo Wii | Court Briefs: Man Pleads Guilty To Drug Delivery
September 1, 2010 – 9:52 amMANITOWOC – Three Two Rivers men face theft- and drug-related charges for allegedly trading a Nintendo Wii one of the men was borrowing from his aunt for marijuana on Aug. 2, according to Manitowoc County Circuit Court records.
According to the criminal complaint, Bruce Smith, 17, and Josh Baker, 20, told police they were smoking marijuana in Smith’s basement in the 1100 block of 35th Street, Two Rivers. They allegedly called James G. Gehrke, 18, to trade the Wii for more marijuana.
The complaint says Gehrke delivered the marijuana between 1 and 3 a.m. and took the Wii, its accessories and several games in exchange. Smith’s aunt had loaned his family the Wii for the past month.
Gehrke made an initial appearance Monday on charges of felony delivery of marijuana, misdemeanor receiving stolen property and felony bail jumping. In December, Gehrke was released on a $5,000 recognizance bond for allegedly delivering methadone and Xanax in October. Resolution of that case is pending.

Gehrke’s preliminary hearing is Sept. 13. He was released on a $1,000 recognizance bond.
Baker also made an initial appearance Monday and pleaded not guilty to charges of misdemeanor possession of marijuana and misdemeanor theft. A settlement conference is set for Sept. 28. Baker was released on a $300 recognizance bond.

MANITOWOC – A 41-year-old Florida man who allegedly molested his 13-year-old niece last summer while visiting his family in Two Rivers pleaded not guilty to second-degree sexual assault Monday in Manitowoc County Circuit Court.
According to the criminal complaint, the girl, now 14, said she slept next to the man for two nights at a relative’s house in the 1000 block of 26th Street. She said he fondled her on both occasions. She also said he repeatedly told her she was “hot” and “had a nice butt.”
The man told police he had been drinking and that “he was old enough to know better,” the complaint says.
The defendant’s name is not being published in order to protect the identity of the victim. A settlement conference is set for Oct. 19.
MANITOWOC – A 43-year-old Manitowoc man awaits sentencing on Sept. 23 after pleading guilty to felony delivery of oxycodone recently in Manitowoc County Circuit Court, according to court records.
According to the criminal complaint, Arvell R. Edwards sold 40 Percocet pills, which contain the narcotic oxycodone, to a Manitowoc County Metro Drug Unit informant in the 1800 block of Western Avenue on Sept. 30.
Edwards also sold 40 Lortab pills, which contain the narcotic hydrocodone, to the same informant Sept. 14. A felony charge for delivery of hydrocodone was dismissed but read in at his plea hearing.
